Problem with swelling after using CPAP

I have seen others post this same problem that I am experiencing.  I started using CPAP therapy December 7th.  I started having problems within a week.  I have severe pain in all of my joints, but especially in my hands, shoulders, hips and knees.  They all feel very swollen.  Each morning the problem is worse and during the day improves somewhat.  I stopped using the machine and after one day the pain is reduced considerably.  I also weigh myself every morning.  I noticed I had gained over 6 pounds since starting CPAP.  After just one night without the CPAP I dropped 3 pounds, which I believe is all fluids.
My question is this:  Could CPAP use cause your kidneys not to filter out fluids from your blood?  When using CPAP I do not get up during the night to urinate.  After one night without using CPAP I did get up to go to the bathroom, my weight dropped by 3 pounds and the pain is greatly reduced.

This discussion is related to swelling of feet, ankles, hands and stomach using cpap machine.

My mother has the same problem in fact she has used the machine for 2nd day and we could see  her enter body has swollen, its an Phillips Dorma 500 auto, they said it will adjust the air pressure automatically, doc has advised to have 14cm of H2o, but the 2nd night we could see it went up to 17cm and my mother was latterly suffocating/chocking we removed it immediately, pls let us know it there is any solution for it, when we asked the seller he said if there is an air leak the machine will not recognize the blockage, she wears an full mask while wearing  its fine bit later we could see there is an mild leakage of air

I have just started using the CPAP machine a little over a week ago and have experienced the same symptoms.  I have looked on the interent and found other people have also experienced this.  However, I have not found any medical reason for it.  There must be some correlation between swelling and CPAP machine use for so many to have experienced the same symptoms.

As for my resting, I sleep much more soundly and feel better mentally during the day.  I will continue using the machine, but I will search for solution to swelling.  Let me know if you discover some answers.
