6cm cyst on left ovary

Hello. I am 24 yrs old and I have a 6cm cyst in my left ovary and I too noticed that I needed to wear a size bigger jeans. I have had problems with cyst on my ovaries sice I was 14 but I never they have never been this big before. I went to my gyno last wednesday and she told me that it looked like it had been leaking at litle which would explain the burning sensation that I feel from time to time. I have been off work for 2weeks now and I go back tomorrow. My gyno released me to work, however I have been on pain meds for 2weeks now and I stopped taking them so I could be a normal person and go to work. If I take tham an go to work I might as well stay home. if I don't take them I am in alot of pain. I tried to take 800mg of ibprophen, but that doesn't work at all. My gyno wants to watch and see if after my period,to seeif it looks like it is going away. I started my period on friday, early of course, and the first day I had some pressure taken off, but yesterday and today it is bad. I don't know what to do. she wants to do a sono on the 18th orf this month to look at. So I am stuck taking these pain meds until then which make me very not my self and tired all the time. All pain meds do that to me for some reason. I am concerned that it may be cancer. I have had lower back pains and nausea, vomiting, fatigue, intercourse hurts, etc. My mom had and abnormal papsmear when she was my age and they did some kind of surgery they thought it was the begining of cervical cancer. I don't know what to do. The cyst that I had when I was younger were so much diffferent than this. Help.

I feel for you.  I am in pain also have been told the cysts changed in size.  I was not told whether I should have a repeated ultrasound.  I feel for you and I am in the same situation.

Thank you. I already had a CT done and in 2 weeks she wants to do another sono. I returned to work today and I had to leave early because I was hurting so bad. I went up to my dr and she suggested that I need to stay off work longer. I told her that I could work part-time that way I have some kind of income. I can put up with 4hrs a day and then go home and relax. but I still have to wait 2 weeks for the sono. I am thinking of getting a second opinion too. Thanks.

Has your doctor scheduled you for any additional tests (ultrasound or CT scan), or said what your next steps will be?  If not, please don't hesistate to find yourself another doctor.  He/she should not be letting things wait if your pain is that bad.  I know it is tough to do, but try to relax. From everything I have read it sounds like the level of pain is different for every individual.  I know I always feel worse when it is that week too, because of the cramps, etc. on top of all the pain I am having everyday.  Make yourself that appointment with another doctor- ask your family, friends, or girls you work with who they go to if you need a recommendation.  There are a lot of supportive people on this board and sometimes it helps a lot just to talk to someone about it.
