Tramadol with Tylenol

I suffer from a form of rheumatoid arthritis called Ankylosing Spondylitis.
I take tramadol for pain and to help me with comfort. With Ankylosing Spondylitig one thing that comes with it
is the feeling of feeling uncomfortable due to the fact that your spine is fused and have limited movement
like mine is. A while back my doctor told me taking Tramadol with Tylenol makes Tramadol work better.
Can anyone tell me which specific type of Tylenol should I take? Is it just the regular over the counter kind?

I would also suggest using one rapid release and one regular or even extended release so you never go into sharp pain.  You’ll stop chasing pain this way.

Just because it didn't help you doesn't mean it wont help others and i think its rude not to answer and help someone out because it didn't work out for you!

Its a long story. A very long story, but i see your point. When you have been ill for over 30 years, there are times when you cant take anymore and just curl up in a ball, wanting the world to go away. When you fight doctors for so long, it wears you out.yes i was on tramadol for quite a while, but during this time, I was in a very disressing place and had cacooned myself in my house, gettin my meds sent monthly from local chemist. People who are in constant chronic pain deal with life in different ways.i wouldnt wish my life on my worst enemy. Xxx

Hi lynadal. I'm just curious as to why you would take a drug for many years to treat your pain (in this case tramadol) if it didn't help your pain at all?

I'm not sure what strength of tylenol you should take with the tramadol. Ask the same doctor who advised you to take the tylenol. I think each tablet contains 200mg. The adult dosage is usually two tablets. Acetaminophen  (tylenol) can be tricky with some patients. Definitely ask the doctor first please!

Yes I would think it's the regular over the counter type Tylenol. There are generics called acetaminophen, which is probably cheaper, and is the same exact active ingredient as Tylenol.
