recovery after cyst and ovary removal

Hello All, Recovering slow but sure.  Day 4, post op, getting around much easier. Thank you for your encouragement!  My question is this, how much and how long is the bleeding to be expected? Yesterday I'd say I soaked at least 3 pads.  Today, bleeding a little slower but there are some ugly clots. Sorry for the graphics. I wasn't told about bleeding at all, although some was to be expected due to the nature of the surgery.

The result was endometriosis, something I'm jsut starting to research. It's kind of disheartening to know that the cysts could grow at any time. It was discovered that there are 2 spots on my left ovary. I am due for a follow-up with the Dr. next week and plan to ask what this means. I assume they looked like endo. or he would have revomoved the ovary. I know most of these questions are for my Dr. but you ladies seem to take care of each other and have TONS of information. Can spots or cysts, if left alone, turn into cancer?

This procedure has been more than I thought it would be with the recovery and really don't want to do it again anytime soon. To the person who posted that their Dr. told them they would be back to work in 3-4 days...NO WAY!  My Dr. told me I wouldn't feel back to "normal" for 1-2 weeks.

Thank you!
Lori

I know that you have posted a long, long time ago, but on the off chance that you still check, I am wondering about the bleeding as well and wondering if you have any answers for me!

I had a cyst and left ovary removed almost 4 weeks ago and I am still having bleeding.  I am still sore, but getting better each day.  Difficult to do much of anything but harder still not to do anything as I have 2 wonderful but busy daughters (ages 3 and 5)!!  I am having abdominal pain - not at the incision, but between the incision and my belly button.  I am really wondering about the spotting and bleeding.  I too was not infomed that this would happen!  I had 2 Csections and expected it then...but now?

Hi there, I had a cyst, ovary and tube removed in March and I didn't feel real great for several months. I was functioning, but had I lots of pain when I bent or lifted anything. It takes the body awhile to heal. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 51 and things take longer to get back to normal than when I was in my 30's. lol.
