Post Orchiopexy Pain in Adult

I'm a 28 year old male and in late November 2012 I had an orchiopexy performed due to a testicular tortion I had earlier in the year.  After the surgery, I had pain in the testicular region in which I was told was normal.  After a month, the bulk of the pain had subsided but there was still some lingering pain.  I was also told this was normal.

Flash forward 6 months...still on occasion when I was active, I would get a quick sharp pain and some dull pain. Not knowing if this was normal, I asked my PCP.  He told me that it was normal and I may be dealing with this for the rest of my life!

Flash forward to now...I still get those pains.  Especially when I go to the gym or when I move funny.  Pretty much when I'm active.  The dull pain is kind of like someone putting excessive pressure on it (that amount of pain)...but without the pressure.  It's really hard to explain.  It's not that bad but it's startling and makes me stop what I am doing.  I've almost tripped on a treadmill!  I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to stop this as it gets frustrating.  Does anyone have suggestions?

Hello i am 34 yrs old i had an orchiopexy done when i was 10 yrs old on my right test. Ever since i had the surgery i have had extreme tender feeling and pain if i touch it. It also some times will get very big and hard and a few hours later it will go very small and soft. It will also go in many different shapes. I have had plenty of ultra sounds done and they have found i have epididymitis cyst. I am very upset ever since i was a small boy and i was always embarrased to mention the pain and scarred to go back to the doctor. I try to tune it out of my mind and never dare to touch it . Like even if a hand brazes my jeans i jump. I have told this to the best urologist here in toronto Dr Casey and he tells me it is normal once the testi is removed from its original sac it can change wierd shapes and be very tender because of the nerves in the area. I can not imagine this is normal and i have lived with this for almost 25 yrs. I believe this has really caused mental trauma and i really do not know what to do when the ultra sound shows nothing but a cyst how can it be be normal to have extreme tenderness changes from huge and hard to tiny and soft and all kinds of weird shapes. I also have had extreme lower back pain my whole life and i have had to have massage regularly. I also have prostititis that comes on with stress or to much sex. My whole life this area has been very tence even with my bowel movements i have never really had a fat stool always paper thin i wonder if this area is all connected. Please advise me what to do will an MRI be the best way to inpect the testi ? Because the ultra sound does not seem to see enough. I am also curious if there is a permeant stitch that holds it down in the sac because it does not move at all always in one position. I am sick of living with this pain it radiates around my hip down my leg and in the groin area all together and it cant be normal that i myself can not touch it. But it has some how lasted 25 yrs ?? Please help

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

I can understand your concern but 9-10 months after the surgery if you are having dull or sharp pain in the testicles then it is not normal.  The cause of this pain needs to be investigated. I suggest you to consult your operating surgeon and get an ultrasound or a Doppler done to confirm the diagnosis.
Hope that this information helps and hope that you will get better soon.

Wishing you good health.
