how long does it take for a baby born at 37 wks to bottle feed?

My daughter was just born last friday 37 wks and she is having issues bottle feeding. The doctor thinks that since I hypertension when I was pregnant that and low birth weight could have affected her. Also they said the mediciations they I was taking also could have affected as well. When I do try and bottle feed she will suck on it for a few minutes and then just hold the bottle in her mouth and of course I get frustrated. I've tried everything the nurses have told me nothing works. How long would it take her to bottle feed properly??

My son was born at 36wks and once we found the right flow of bottle (how many holes in the teet that moderates the flow of the bottle) he fed like a champion. Because he was prem he didn't have the energy to work so hard to get the formula out but too many holes and he was drowning in it. Was a matter of trial and error for us to see what worked and then we had to keep changing the teets as he grew. I hope this helps you, good luck and congratulations!
