Pregnancy hair loss

Hi, I am 7 weeks pregnant with our first child. I am currently experiencing hair loss. I am guessing ot could be due to hormonal changes? I am currently taking Folic acid and a pregnancy multivitamin.

Is the hair loss normal? Can I take anything or do something to prevent more hair loss? Will the hair loss continue?

Another thing to mention is that my hair texture feels dry too, almost like straw.

Hi!
I am 23 weeks and my head hair is still growing normally but my armpit, leg and pubic hair growth has slowed way down and thinned ! I talked to my doctor and apparently this is normal with all the hormone changes !

I'm not a Dr. but you should have your thyroid checked, some symptoms of low thyroid are loss of hair, dry skin, fatigue. I was diagnosed after having blood drawn. Now I am on medication for low thyroid and I am 18 weeks pregnant with twins.

I heard that taking prenatal vitamins is good for your hair.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that hair loss is common in pregnancy.  You can't do much of anything about it, except to eat healthy foods and take your vitamins.  Also take good care of your hair--avoid heat, etc.  Usually it stops within a few weeks (it always stops) and often your hair will become thicker and shinier by the time of delivery.
Hair loss after delivery is common too.
Good luck!

Mine did that for the first 2-2.5 months but now starting my 12th week it has really slowed down. I wouldn't use anything because you don't want it to seep into the blood stream just in case.

Mine does that too. Mine didn't really stop until after I had the baby but it wasn't super extreme either.
