I just had my daughter 8 days ago, she was 34w5d when I had an emergency csection. I had steroid shots for her lungs around week 28 (I had a small abruption and the fear was it could fully abrupt at any time)

Anyway, other than being small and only eating tiny amounts at a time she is doing so well. She didn't need the nicu and got to come home on day 3 like a normal csection. I know we got very lucky but I figured I'd share a success story since I know there are so many scary ones!

I went into labor at 34w. Normally they will give you steroid shots to help the lungs and prevent a brain bleed. The baby will and would likely spend a few days to weeks to the nicu. Complications at That stage are minor normally. Things like trouble breathing and sucking are common. As long as she goes in they will help take the proper precautions

What are the complications if it is a premature baby? I'v heard the brain doesnt develop much if its premature

The baby has a good chance for survival If delivered at 34 weeks but to make sure everything is ok with mom and baby she needs to be seen ASAP!! She needs to be evaluated.
