hair coloring while pregnant

So I've read in a couple places that dying hair in the second trimester is actually not harmful to the baby? Is it true that I could dye my hair once during my pregnancy as long as its in my second trimester?

Hi I am a hairdresser, I worked for 8 months of this pregnancy, and my last pregnancy coloring hair.
I color my own hair also.
There is no proof that hair die is harmful. If u want to play it safe then I would recommend ammonia free color, but it may not cover greys if that is the concern.  Bleach powder geberally does not contain ammonia either.
I have a healthy 5 year old now, if u want to dye ur hair, then go ahead :)

I've colored my hair with all my pregnancies! I usually go darker, and never had a problem. This time though. I went lighter n not only did it go super light! But it was a pinkish orange color as well. I'm usually a golden blondes natural, but this time I look like a Z grade pornstar

Just don't breath chemicals... you also might notice a color band due to your body's chemical changes and vitamins... lightening can be disastrous! Darker is just depositing, still be prepared if it's not a perfect match!

I looked it up when i wanted to die my hair and it said there was never anything that proved that it was harmful to the baby. I believe as long as you dont bleach it or anything you should.be fine i.died my hair and know many people that have done it.
