Really worried, testicular pain

Ok, a lot of info here. I am a 20 year old male, average height and weight, healthy testicles until now. It all started after a bout of oral sex with my girlfriend 1 week ago. I had a dull but strong pain on the left side of my penis right at the base after wards, that continued to hurt for a few days. That will still hurt occasionally, but its very light pain.

A few days after that, my testicles started to hurt, so I checked them, and I found what feels like a lump on the back of the right testicle, hard, kind of like a large pimple, but it could possibly be where the epididymis meets the testicle. Also a pimple type thing on the bottom of the left. Keep in mind I'm paranoid at this point, so I could be crazy. The epididymis on the right side is swollen and painful to touch and that testicle is swollen. The pain is worse some days than others. Recently, the pain has started radiating to my groin and down my legs, sometimes past the knee into the calf, feels like a muscle ache almost. Also my left testicle will have sharp shooting pains through it occasionally, different than the dull pain in the right.

When I wake up in the morning the pain is usually gone, but will return later in the day. I don't have a fever or chills or vomitting. Occasionally it will burn when I urinate, and I have had some burning pain in the tip of my penis on some days. I concerned about testicular cancer but it seems from online everything points to epididymitis. The radiating groin pain is what scares me. Whats worse, I don't have health insurance until April 1st (approx. 3 weeks) and I'm afraid if I goto the doctor and get diagnosed, nothing will be covered when my health insurance does kick in.

Do these symptoms point to anything to you? I'm very scared and the stress alone feels like its going to kill me! Thanks for any help.

Infection should certainly be considered.  Urine testing can be done to evaluate for STDs as well as UTIs.

I would also consider a testicular ultrasound.  This can evaluate for various non-infectious causes of the symptoms - including hydrocele, varicocele, or a testicular mass.  Infectious causes like epididymitis can also be found.

The prostate should also be examined and possibly imaged for further diagnosis.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
