Help please. Day 6 of opiate withdrawal.

Hello all. I would just like to say I'm on day 6 of opiate withdrawal. A little back ground I'm 26 female who needs to use daily. Ive been addicted to any kind of opiate for the last 4 years. I Bang (IV) anything from oxy, methadone, morphine, and heroine anything that I can get my hands on for the day. I've tried to quit numerous times over the last year but fail every time. I'm sick of pawning my precious items being broke everyday waking up feeling like **** and only caring about my next fix. I never thought I would grow up and be a drug addict. I don't really have a support system which is why I am here. My friends and family have no idea so rehab is not an option also I have a really good job that would let me go if they knew I had a drug problem. So quitting on my own is the only way. Every time
I try to quit I make it to day 6 and cave :( ... I guess I'm just really looking for someone to talk to and give hope. I'm sorry if I am rambling and my post is hard to follow my head is all over the place and I have gotten very little sleep these last 6 days. I appreciate anyone's comments. Thank you. AA

Hey Friend,
Congratulations on starting the rest of your new life!
There will be milestones. I was awful until day 15, when I got a spring of light, then it was again on day 30, boom, another burst of energy and the anxiety subsided more.
then in three months, WOW, and then in four months I was flying across the country and working with dogs.
You can do this! Ride it out and don't give in. Your sacrifice right now is the best gift you can ever give yourself or anyone.
i am proud of you!

hugs,
Lily

How are you doing all these years later? I found your comment and we have very similar stories, same age now too... 30? I'm on the methadone program now & doing much better. Been using iv since I was 21... Super hard to change my thought patterns & stay clean of all things. Would love to know how you are doing AA.  Love & light...

Best thing for you to do is concentrate on why your doing this why its important why you dont want to feel like shut everyday I suggest trying melatonin to help calm you no prescription needed so no one knows it is meant to help the body relax for sleep but in withdrawal it will take the edge off. REMEMBER WHY that's what you have to get through.

Thanks guys ... I know I'm gonna have pain withdrawing .. But the whole stomach pain is more then it should be ... I've noticed the heating pad works the best so I'm gonna stick with that ... I hope your right about it getting better soon ... I've been trying to eat something everyday because I thought about having just vitamins on a empty stomach before I started withdrawing ... I hope the probiotics work.. My diet wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible either ... Not a fan of junk food and I don't drink soda .. So I think I ate pretty decent. Yes the bloating and stomach pains are still here :/

Hi Ashleigh :)

Congratulations on hanging in there. It'll start getting better soon (promise). I think it's possible that if you haven't been eating that much that the vitamins might be hurting your stomach. (It happens sometimes). Also, I'm not sure what your diet was like before. I think the probiotics are a great idea. The ensure might help until this eases. Let us know how it's going. Are you still 'bloating'? I'm so sorry that you're going through this additional symptom. ;(

Debbie it's so nice to have a reply .. I go a little crazy with just myself lol ..the nausea is gone .. Thank goodness that it only was for the day. Since sleep did not come tonight I'll be getting up soon ... Going to the store is one of the first things I'm gonna do ... I'll pick up some probiotics and some ensure ... Maybe the ensure will be easier on my tummy... I'm praying I don't get the flu or any stomach virus until the withdrawals start to ease up.. I just turned in my heating pad .. So I'm hoping that helps ... Im gonna give it the rest of the day and when tomorrow comes see how my stomach is and If it's not better I'll go see a doctor .. Thank you so much for your kind words they mean so much

I am so sorry Ashleigh that your stomach is hurting so much.
Is the nausea better?
I would suggest probiotics acidophilus. We have a chewable,
Nature's bounty. Also using a heating pad. Go to the pharmacy and get an over the counter med for stomach cramps.
It is possible you could also have gotten a stomach virus. It isn't uncommon to get sick during detox.
If you don't feel better very soon a doctor's visit might be in order. You would have to be honest with them about your detox.

I am proud of you Ashleigh.
I pray you feel better soon.
Hugs,
Debbie

Do not worry for next step. I was doing stuped thing. I start to play piano that I did not touch at list 5y. I was playing tapes from the time I was in college. And the times I spend in the clubs in NY. And my famely was stating to get warry when took my old dolls from my childhood. And it looks like 40y fimale getting crazy. But all I had done was making me happy, bring a lot of good memory. And I did well. All this ideas I got from Internet and many, many people like me.

Hi and welcome,
I am so glad you got all this support when you came on this site.  Like you this was my first step and it took a lot of courage for me to put that first post on here.  Congrats on ten days and keep it going!  You have found the right place and I hope you stick around.
You have a great attitude and it is very important to keep your health up the best you can and your hygiene.  Soon you will be through the physical acute withdraws and you get to start the work on the second stage of withdrawal which is called the Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS). During this stage you'll have fewer physical symptoms, but more emotional and psychological withdrawal symptoms.

Post-acute withdrawal occurs because your brain chemistry is gradually returning to normal. As your brain improves the levels of your brain chemicals fluctuate as they approach the new equilibrium causing post-acute withdrawal symptoms.
I wish you the best of luck and please keep coming back.

Ashleigh nausea is a symptom of dehydration. it is very important for you to drink something every 10 or 15 minutes, a few sips.
happy that your headache has subsided.
eating and drinking are very important.
withdrawal symptoms are greatly increased if you aren't getting
enough food and liquids.

Congratulations on 10 days, that is a great accomplishment and although I know you are still not feeling the best right now, it gets better and better and at bigger leaps I feel like. I remember thinking the same thing and I went through it many times also and then one day just feels so much better than the day before and before you know it your back to feeling happy again and living a free life. Just hang in there and take each moment as it comes, I promise you will be so happy for it and it is worth it. There are always days were sometimes you will feel like the pressure or the cravings are too much but just take a deep breath, maybe even just get outside for a few min to change your environment up for a second and you will be back on the right track. Hot showers too!! or baths.
