Bruise?

Dr. Rockoff,
I had rigorous sex with a professional in Asia including protected intercourse 2 times during the session and brief unprotected oral and hand sex.
About 1 week later, I noticed while showering a bright purple round/oblong (no sharp boundaries) spot on my penis head approx. 5cm long by 3cm wide.  The spot is located on/adjacent to the coronal ridge (I am circumcised) midway between the sides of the head as you look down at the penis (I would call it the top of the penis head).  Once the spot apeared, I experienced some localized swelling of the corona in the same area.  The spot did not blister, burn, break, ooze, itch, hurt, peel, etc and the skin texture, other than the discoloration, did not change.  Within a week or two, it began to very very slowly fade, and now (13 weeks later) what's left is much smaller in size and is a very light purple.  Some of the area which was purple has faded back to a normal skin color.  When I take a shower, the area does redden in color but fades back to the light purple shortly after that.  Although I have never had a bruise, I assumed that's what it was and and not an infection, but it seems to be taking a very long time to resolve itself - although it is clearly going away.
Other items which may or may not be relevant include:
I also experienced some skin sensitivity the morning after the sex.  After showering, I noticed that the skin on the back of my neck, face, arms and legs were tingly when I dried off and combed my hair.  This sensation continued (only when drying off after showering) for 3-5 days. I attributed that to some sort of reaction to the bath soap or laundry detergent in the hotel.
I also had a 1 day stomach virus about 3 days after the sex with a 1 time combined bout of vomiting/diarrhea.
Your thoughts on all of this?
Thank you very much.

Actually, it doesn't, but I can't think of anything sex-related that would look like what you describe and come a week later either.  Perhaps you had some other trauma later.

One follow-up question please.  Just to be clear, when I noticed the bruise 1 week later is when it presented itself.  Does the 1 week lag make sense?
Thanks Dr. Rockoff

It indeed sounds like a bruise.  Bruised skin can take a rather long time for the color to return to normal.  Your description sounds within normal ranges.  I don't think the other sesnsitivity issues are related, or of concern.

Best.
