Trying to get pregnant after birth control

Hey ladies. My husband and I decided we wanted to start trying to have a baby in January. I came off birth control in October and have had irregular periods ever since, causing me to believe I was pregnant several times only to be disappointed. I'm wondering how long it took you guys to get pregnant after being on the pill. I've heard 6 months plus but my aunt got pregnant right away. Also, any tips or advice? Thanks so much!!

With my 2nd and 3rd it took 3 months and the one I am pregnant with now it took 1 time having sex. Also try to relax and not be stressed also pretending not to try you usually get pregnant quicker.

After coming off the pill you have a spike in the first month where you're more likely to conceive but then it drops off & takes 6-12months for your body to get bk to 'normal'. But as others have said even without having been on it it can take longer. My only advice is try not to stress about it or focus on it each month - although i know thats difficult. Good luck.

I was on nuva 4ing and it took me a year and a half. I was getting regular periods but somehow my cycle had switched up and I was ovulating a week later than I used to but still having a 30 day cycle  so we were just trying at the wrong time of the month.

I had one period after stopping birth control pills then ended up pregnant the 2nd month although I had what I thought was a 2nd period (it was much lighter). I had only been on them for 4months prior to stopping though.

I had good luck after the pill but struggled after depo...if you're under 35 it is recommended that you try a year before seeking fertility help...however after a year I would definitely recommend finding a good fertility doctor...worked for us after depo and insurance covered the testing just had to pay out of pocket for the IUI

It depends on the person and how long you were on it in some cases. It took me a year after birth control to get pregnant. Best of luck.

It took me and my partner 2 years to get pregnant. Both of us healthy and 27. While we werent using the pill just want to say it can take a while even when not coming off the pill and that usually the second you relax about it is the moment you get pregnant. :) best of luck and hope it happens for u soon.

I think it'd different for everyone so of course you might get pregnant much quicker but it took us 2 years after birth control
