my labour story.... (sorry it's long)

Sorry it's late! Had my gorgeous boy, Jacub Thomas on 25/3/2015 at 6:34am weighing 8lbs10.5oz. So my waters broke at 3:30am on Monday, with no contractions, so I called l&d and was told if nothing happens to call again at 9am to be booked in to see a midwife to check me and baby. So I wait and still no contractions so go in to be checked and they say that baby is fine and to go home and wait for contractions to start, and that I would be monitored daily to check on me and baby, if nothing had happened by Thursday I would be induced! So I wake up Tuesday with what I think is blood in my waters, so I call l&d and they tell me to come in, I get put on a monitor and they check my waters, they decide it's just my bloody show. But whilst there they decide that they don't want to wait any longer so I get induced. I had a pessary hormone called propess inserted at about 4pm, at around 5pm I start to feel some twinges but ignore them as I don't believe it could happen that fast, then they got stronger and stronger and at 8pm they decide to put me on the monitor and see that i'm having intense contractions with no breaks in between, at this stage I decided to get some pethidine, the doctor came to check my contractions and told them to leave the hormone in and see if my contractions started to even out. They didn't so at 9:30pm they checked my cervix I was 3-4cm so they took out the hormone. I then laboured for another few hours with gas and air and was checked again and was 7cm I decided to get another dose of the pethidine at about 11pm and continued to labour for another few hours, at 3am I was checked again and was 10cm and told that in the next hour I would be pushing, at 4am I started pushing and pushed until 5:30am, but nothing was happening in was pushing really well but baby was stuck. So that had to go ahead and do a forceps delivery. I must say afterwards I was very uncomfortable but it's all worth it when I look at him, I fall more and more in love every day.

Oh wow!!! That story is the opposite of what I thought! I figured since your water broke on its own it would be a fast and easy delivery!! Glad you and baby are doing good and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
