FTM labor story: induced

I was right at 41 weeks the day of my induction. Got admitted and started the lowest dose of pitocin around 6 pm. Every half hour they would come in and increase it. Only caused braxton Hicks until around 4am when babies heart rate started to drop. They cut the pitocin for 5 mins to give her a break and pump me with fluids. After they turned it back on the real contractions started in. It was back labor and it was painful! I breathed through it for about an hour, then my water broke on it's own thankfully. I'll never forget that feeling! They checked me and I was only at 4 cm. At around 9am my contractions were hitting me at a 6 so I asked for an epidural. It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be, and it brought such relief! Around 10:30 am a nurse came in and said I wasn't progressing and at that point I asked how likely a c-section was looking. To my disappointment she said I was headed in that direction. Five minutes later about 8 people flooded the room and I was informed I was being taken for a c-section! I could have cried. I was alone in the room as hubby and family went to eat breakfast, so they had me call him up. I barely had time to put my contacts in before they wheeled me out. 15 minutes later my little girl was here! Eliana was 7 lbs 5 ounces and 21 inches long, healthy and happy. They don't tell you that the medicine for a c-section can make you shake uncontrollably, or that your husband can't hold your hand, or that you won't get to hold your baby until an hour after the birth. At that point I was still shaking so bad I was afraid to hold her. I can say recovery is going fine, and I would do it all over again in an instant.

My little prince came this morning (41+4) after 20 hours of natural labour I had to have an emergency c section too. I like you were so disappointed. I was 9cm dialated footer about 8 hrs, they tried everything but in the end,  there was no other option. The cut is pretty sore and painful now,  even with all the drugs they give,  but seeing my beautiful boy makes it worth it.  Hope we all have speedy recoveries!
