im almost five weeks post pardum and I am ready to have sex I just don't know of my body is how long did you ladies wait

I went to the dr twice the first time he said wait about a week and the next I went and got my iud put in and I forgot to ask butnitnwas a week later my birth was easy and went smooth I had a very small tear my stitches are the disivable ones I don't see my dr for another three weeks so I'm alone on figuring out if I'm okay to have sex my cervix was completely closed at my appt but he opened it to put in the iud so I'm not sure

They say 6-8 weeks. Have you talked to Ur dr? How was the birth? Was it Easy, csection, episiotomy, did U tear-all of these should be considered too...  Don't rush it if Ur not quit comfortable. I've had csections so I feel nervous I usually wait for the 8 wk mark.  When u do have sex take it slow & be careful post pregnancy (even while nursing) you are very fertile.
