Curiosity...How did y'all decide your scree names?

Some people have obvious screen names. For example "IWantToGetClean2015" kinda speaks for itself and others have names and numbers and I wonder what they are all about. If you want to share the meaning of your screen name I would love to hear it.

I think my screen name speaks for itself but there is a little story behind it. I found this site in the back door way through a google search in august of 2007. I came in through some long, old post as many of us do and I did not realize where I was. A member who is no longer active guided me to start my own post and I did. I was weaning off of Suboxone at the time and did not consider myself clean. I was also using my real name as my screen name. I was telling some people at meetings about the site and then I decided I didn't want them to know who I was on here so I asked MedHelp if I could create another screen name. they said yes and the first day that I did not take my Suboxone (my first day clean) I created the screen name I have. But the problem with it is that I can't use because the name just wouldn't work anymore. You don't know how many times the name has kept me clean...So anybody else got a story?????

Too funny spidy..well as for it's a play on words. My father in law was big on nicknames. My first name is Laura. Back in the day, there was a song with the line, "Laura is the face in the misty light " Misty light he morphed in ms delight so that's my nickname.  I wanted to be MrsRobinson, but it was taken.  So that's it. I don't think I'm really that delightful. Sometimes maybe. Miss you IBK. But you live on through your words here at MH

I'm small and wiry, and peeps find me startling to be around me.......lol.....also I was in detox in hospital years ago for benzos and a fellow impatient nicknamed me that...why...cuz I'm small and wiry and peeps find me startling, annoying, frightening, obnoxious to be around.  Lol

    I just found out about IBK she and I came in together in 2007 I was her first friend .We leaned on each other a lot over the years I have 1000s of emails between the two of us this has broken my heart . As IBK I came in to MH through google when I was trying to find help on how to quit oxycontin cold turkey. So my first post was quitin oxys and neeed help. I was feeling so bad that day my spelling was not so great so  I just combined quitin & oxys  hence quitinoxys was born.

I would like to carry this POST on in the memory of IBK may she RIP.

I almost posted the same question a couple of yrs back. To this day I am always thinking of new ones. I would of liked to have been "Wildflower" becasue I come for the 50s-60-70s when it was all Peace, Love, Hippies and Flowerpower, etc. I also like "AboutFaith" now that I have 3yrs coming up, and had SO many Changes go on.

I too had 3 months in when I found this site. I was still sick with high Anxiety and still no Sleep. I came in as "vvic" which is my name Vickie and V in my last name. I had many nick names like Mooselips, Mountain-mama, Victoria ans so forth.. EvolverU and a few were PMing me as I was trying to find a new name like MsGunsmoke or such. They are the ones that came up with VIC- for Vickie and Courageous because of the 3 meds I just stopped at a semi high dose. So that is it and I am sticking to it!!!

I picked my screen name as an ode to my dearly departed Dad.  He once told me that Sonrisa meant sunrise in Spanish.  Well, since then people have told me that it actually means smile.  Huh, go figure.  I guess my dad sucked at Spanish.  LOL

Well I was looking for help about 2 months after detoxing. Stumbled onto Med-Help. Didn't know what it was or if I was interested. Being desperate for help I wanted to join but was unsure. I tried about 15 of my favorite names that were taken before I became frustrated and just typed in the most obscure nutty name associated with addiction. Refills. I really don't like it at all today. Although it does serve as a reminder I guess.

My name kind of speaks for itself...I was so desparate when I came on here, I wanted a name that would remind me that I couldn't go through this again.  So "NeverAgain" just popped into my head.   127 is part of my birthday.

Calamity Jane...I love it! My mom used to call me "Gravel Gurdy". She would say I looked like her when my hair and clothes were out of place. I didn't find out for years who she was and when I did it was really a blow to me. That woman was a mess!!! lol

I have used a portion of my first name the first letter of my surname and then added EE. which gave me MANGEE.
