Baby is one day old with Jaundice

My baby came naturally and everything went health except for Jaundice, which is very common and fairly normal to be treated with a lightbox. I am still in the hospital since two days ago of being admitted. I had my baby within 24 hours of labor. And OMG it was definitely a long experience. Since my baby is stuck in the lightbox for awhile. He had to do everything independently except when being fed. That is the only time we can take him out and hold him.

That's not all though. Feeding time has been quite a challenge for us. My nipple is flat and it appears my baby prefers long nipples, which the artificial nipples satisfies him more...I am, however, producing a lot of milk pretty frequently and easily, so that's easy. Only one day and I'm already, blah, not succeeding. We are making efforts to breastpumping so all my colostrum is being saved and he can at least get the real stuff. Plus, doing it helps perk up my nipples. Wish us luck on this challenge. I thought this was gonna be easy.

As far as the baby sleeping kn the lightbox, he has been more fussy because he is still used to being wrapped up and swaddled. He already didn't like being placed inside it and the nurses had introduced him to the pacifier. I wish they didn't, because now he is completely relying it for every reason to cry and complain. So another artificial nipple that has him not accepting my breasts. It appears he has turned lazier with feeding now that he knows he can get the good stuff through formula and pacifiers. By the time I try breastpumping, it has to be close to the time he is ready to feed. Sometimes it's a hit or miss because he'll end up waking up to feel really hungry and anxious earlier than his average time I put him on my nipple. And what's more is he's learned to cry so much to a level where he can really get our attention. Sigh....so many issues for just two nights...wish me luck!
