Pain after cystocele surgery

I had a cystocele 3 1/2 weeks ago.  It seemed I was healing well with some mild tenderness in the lower abdomen.  Which I felt was normal.  But a little over a week ago I suddenly began to experience excruciating (level 8-10) pain in my right hip area.  The surgeon said it is the tendon/ligament (?) where the sling was attached to that is hurting so bad.  Has anyone else experienced this after cystocele surgery?  And if so, how long did it last?

I have heard some similar stories but you do have more healing time to go through yet.
I assume you had a Urogyne do your operation?   I hope you get the answers to your questions when you see your surgeon.  I am glad at least one side has stopped hurting.

Thank you so much for your response.  I will ask my doctor for more information.  I was hurting so bad in the right hip area, but it got better after 9 days of doing nothing.  I mean I got up to go to the bathroom and was hurting so bad I would go lay on my stomach and try to get a still as possible.  I started getting better and slowly was getting back into our busy lifestyle and now I'm having this same pain in my left hip.  It's been almost 5 weeks since the surgery.  Praise God it is not as bad.  I'll not push myself and rest often.

I just wondered if this is typical, or has anyone else experienced similar complications.

Sorry to hear you have having pain after your Prolapse op.  Have you asked your surgeon if they feel the sling is too tight?  If so do they suggest a remedy?  You are still early in your healing process so it is possible that this may improve but I would have thought that your surgeon would have given you an indication of what to expect from both yor healing as well as complications you are having.
Did you have a Urogynecologist do your operation?

I would go back to your surgeon and ask further questions as to whether they expect your pain to go or if they feel they need to consider if your sling is too tight and if so what they intend to do about it
