Information on NBC re interferon tx

Hi all, having trouble knowing if I am asking this right.  This is the new format I am not used to it.  I will try to do better.  I have no back up as this was on TV

Today 2/10/16 on NBC Station, Barbara Harris spoke to a doctor.  He said that people that used interferon during their HCV treatment could be suffering from inflammation  (read pain) and depression.  He suggested cutting out sugar, increase exercise, sleep and probiotics
He also stated that Tumeric is good for inflamation.  He said a study was done that showed 2 x 500 a day helped people as much as another SSRI.
Did anyone see this?
I have no back up as it was on TV, it never showed the doctors name.  I have tried to find it. Perhaps it will be available on the internet tomorrow.
Thank you
Dee

PS - How many of us advised new sufferers to undertake non-inflammatory diets to combat the mental effects?  A lot.  Way before this article came out, too.

Med Help is an awesome forum, and even more so when it does not censor speech, as it used to do a lot with respect to negative comments on Hep C treatments.  Take note, editors  :-).

You know, what's remarkable about the study is that Med Help posters have been surmising and / or saying the same thing on this forum for years.  We're not doctors.  We did no rigourous scientfic study.  But we all knew from our own experience.

And how many of us had doctors who refused to believe, because soem BigPharma comany hadn't performed some incredibly biased and numerically-manipulated research?

I think the study discussed at th elink below may be the source for for the TV commentator.

I'm really sorry I got it wrong. Story of my life :)

Hi.  That clip said nothing about interefron.  I'd be very interested to find the 2/10/16 clip you are talking about.  What city was it on NBC?  What time of day?

Thanks!!

Hi Dee, glad that L'Tyrosine is making a difference. I will give it a try.
For me the whole post interferon thing operates like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I have, after two years of chasing a cure, decided that for me
Pacing is the single most important factor. Crashing takes me down further
than the previous one. As you say it is a real balancing act !

I recently started taking L'Tyrosine as it is supposed to help replenish LDopamine, the feel good chemical in the brain that Interferon is said to deplete., I noticed a difference.  Then I just started to take L'Carnitine as it is supposed to help as well.  I don't have the brain fog anymore.  I'm more active.  It seems to be a real balancing act :)  Nice to see you both!

Good to see you posting again Frank...  I totally agree that what interferon does is inflame the brain and sorting that out is a long process. LDN has helped but still struggling two years out. Holding out hope as many do improve.

Hey Dee, is this Barbara Harris from a national news program? Morning show?

I am going to be posting more (not sure about this new format either!?!)  - been crazy fatigued lately ... which was a reversal of a year of great energy and just now coming out of that fatigue (I believe).

I think, for me, maybe, it is on some kind of rhythm. Not sure what it is.

Of course we know it is a whole body inflammation - but I don't believe, for me, it is treatable by foods, diet etc. Maybe Tumeric, exercise, probiotic (LDN of course)... and sleep is nearly impossible since CFS is an inflammation of the brain from PIS... but LDN has seemed to help me a bit.

more on my little update when I have the energy.
