Vitamin B

Three weeks ago I noticed my daughter (age 38) could not remember anything from 10 or 15 minutes and kept asking the same questions - She seemed confused.   I took her to the hospital and they began running test.  After 2 days she was having difficulty standing so I had to help her stand and then she could walk -  after 4 days she could not stand or walk at all.     Her legs and arms both have some numbness, burning sensations, and pain.    The MRI scan shows no issues - they have run MRI, CatScan, EEG, EMG, Muscle Biospy, Spinal Tap,  all sorts of blood work and after three weeks have found nothing except some vitamin deficiency.   She still cannot walk and has confusion and short term memory -   Has anyone heard of anything like this.   Is it possible that is vitamin deficiency?    Any Ideas appreciated.

Not sure if you're still checking this but vitamin deficiencies can absolutely cause these symptoms. It's most likely Vitamin B12, she would probably need injections. Her Vitamin D and magnesium may need to be raised as well.

The people at the hospital I assume ran blood tests as well, which would indicate any glaring nutritional deficiencies.  We all have some, but this kind of reaction would require something very wrong and nutritional deficiencies usually build up to something rather than happen suddenly.  Overdoses, on the other hand, of problematic foods or other substances can produce this kind of sudden reaction.  It sounds like a stroke, but she's seeing people a whole lot more expert than any of us.  Just keep looking for the answer.

When I say overdoses, I'm including things like food allergies, by the way, such as an allergic reaction to shellfish or tree nuts, whereas a gluten insensitivity would build up symptoms over time.
