Can't find bleeding aneurysm

My son in law had a bleeding aneurysm they put in a shunt and took him to angiogram. They couldn't find where it was. I know even a clotted aneurysm should be coiled. He's going to mri, what do we do if they can't locate the aneurysm, what's the next step

He should have MRA not an MRI
