11 year gap between children

Hello All,
Does any one else have a big gap in age between their first child and second? I'm due July 3rd and my 11 year old daughter is not happy. Once the baby is born, do the older children typically end up being loving and happy?

They will love it. They won't be close enough to fight. It'll be more like a protective/ownership type of relationship (in a good way). Usually when kids are close together the older one gets jealous and sad that they don't get enough attention. But for your kids, they'll be at completely different stages in their lives with your eldest going to middle school they'll feel responsible and almost like a parent. Good luck!

I was 11 when my now 19 yr old brother was born. I hated how much he took mom away from our mother daughter time but loved helping her with things like baths, feeding and  play time. She did a great job of explaining things to me and it kept me interested.
I'm now 30 and my little brother and I are best friends.
Just be sure to spread your time between kids. They will be just fine. Good luck
