Feeling depressed.

Hi mommies! This is my second pregnancy. I'm 24 weeks +2 days. I'm having a hard time wanting to do anything. All I want to do is stay home with my oldest child and sleep. I feel like I have depression, and I'm not sure how to get over it without doctor or medical help. I'm at the point where I feel like I want to cry all the time (and not just because I'm hormonal). I hate going to work because I have to pretend I'm happy when I'm really not, and it just keeps getting harder and harder every day to fake a smile for 8 hours straight, and then come home and bawl my eyes out because I don't feel like my normal happy self. I'm not exactly sure what's going on, or how to stop feeling like this.
Have any other second time moms felt this way? If so, how did you get over it?

Hiya i suffered with depression with all my pregnancies including this current one. Ive had help from doctors in the past. Most days i feel terrible dont want to do anythinf i just want to lock myself away and cry and i find it very difficult to go to work and talk to anyone. Recently i have gotten myself a hobbie that i can focus on when i am feeling this way i have a small balcony and i have a greenhouse where i have started to grow my own veg and fruit with my oldest 2 boys that are 9 and 4 i find it helps me because it makes them happy as well and because im doing something with them i dint feel like such a terrible mum for locking myself away crying. Gardening may not be your thing but prehaps another hobbie. I find baking helps also x good luck i hope you find what helps. Hear if you need to chat x

Get help. You have to think what's best for you now and talking with someone will help you. I'm feeling like crying every day now not because of depression but because of health issues. I've been sick for two months straight and I'm mentally tired.
You want to deal with this asap before your child comes. Good luck to you! It's hard to get over depression, I know from experience, but help makes it easier. You're not alone.

Hi! Hugs, mama. Depression during and after pregnancy is super common, and you are showing some strong symptoms. I am not a medical professional. I have just dealt with moderate cases myself in the past. I am curious why you would avoid professional help? A counselor can really help you figure out your next steps. Depression has true chemical reactions and imbalances, which can have negative effects even when you're not pregnant, but are double important to attend to when you are. It's not something that's all in your head! If caught early, there are tons of ways to mitigate symptoms with healthy diets and regular exercise, if you are trying to avoid medication. Your professional can help you figure out what's really necessary.

You are strong and awesome for reaching out, and realizing you have an issue! Good job! That's the first step! Hugs!!
