Vaginal odour after a total hysterectomy 14 years ago.

I am 62 years old and had a total hysterectomy 14 years ago. I have a very unpleasant vaginal odour in spite of bathing or showering morning and night. It is very noticeable after urination, no burning or unusual urine colour but smells dreadful!

If that's what it is (and it sounds like it) be sure you take the full run of antibiotics the doc prescribes, don't stop just because the smell goes away.  People tend to quit too early on antibiotics because the problem seems solved, and especially BV can be determined and come back if you do.
Oh, and if you have a regular sex partner, if you do get a positive for BV from the doctor, ask if your partner should also be on the same antibiotics at the same time.  The one time I had it, my doctor put my husband on the same antibiotic run, so he would not inadvertently pass it right back to me after I got over it.

Go to your doctor and get swabbed for BV.  Its hallmark is a bad smell.
