Changes in hormones whether it be during puberty, post-partum, perimenopause or menopause can cause mood disorders. I had an unwarranted hysterectomy which threw me into a suicidal depression which I had never experienced before.

Has your periods changed or stopped?

Yes, they have changed. I just went 2 months without having one, then all of a sudden started. Been having depression, anxiety, lots of hot flashes, mood swings, don't want to leave the house, and lost all interest in things I loved doing before. Just going through it.
That's exactly what happened on and off for my good friend.  She's now been over a year with no period and they feel she is done.
Poor girl, wouldn't wish this on anyone. :((

Me too? No one here. Indicative of a major lack of sharing/knowledge in society. Bummer.

Agree.
Unfortunately, that can be the case, but I just think it takes time for someone to see your question(s) to answer and sometimes people aren't knowledgeable about the subject to answer.  Being old doesn't always make one knowledgeable. Lol!
That's for sure. Lol! Yes, you're right, it just takes time for someone to see our question. ;)

Hello! I'm wondering the same thing. Where are all the older women? What is going on with you, Countrymorninggirl?

Hello!! ;) After a few days I stopped looking to see if someone had answered... My question is about hormones. I was wondering how to know if my problem stems from hormones or a chemical imbalance of some sort. I cant get my Dr to do the right test to find out. When I ask the doc things I'm concerned about, I always get put off. Dr acts like she knows my body and symptoms better than I do. I believe I'm going through perimenopause or menopause itself, not sure yet. I don't want to be taking psych meds for my moods if I don't need to. Anyways, I'm sure it will all get worked out one of these days. By the way, I have no idea where all the older women are. Lol ;)
I am here!  51 years old, but I feel 28 in my mind. :))
