Hello everyone,
I am a 35 year old male. Have had a pretty sedentary lifestyle for about the last 6 years due to multiple surgeries and a below knee amputation. For about 3 months now, have been experiencing chest pain and pain down left arm. I have been to the hospital 6 times in the past 2 months. Have had 5 ekg's and 5 Troponin blood draws...all have been negative with no changes. Last time I was at the hospital, the e.r. doctor suggested that I get a stress test done. Had the stress test yesterday. I had a stress test before, about 5 years ago. The results from the one 5 years ago showed an ejection fraction of 61.
The results of my stress test from yesterday showed an ejection fraction of 55. It also showed trace mitral valve and tricuspid valve regurgitation, and exercise intolerance. Now, from what I have been reading, almost everyone has some regurgitation and they usually don't even follow up with trace regurgitation. What I am wondering tho, is does the exercise intolerance mean that I have heart failure? Everything else with my heart was normal. Normal size, no enlargement, and my doctor said I have nothing to worry about, but he's not a cardiologist. I am scared and freaking out here.
