Treatment resistance OCD
Does anyone know of anything that might be of benefit to treatment resistant OCD? My OCD is ruining my life and driving me insane. I have tried every standard OCD med, Clomipramine, Luvox, SSRI's, SNRI's, Antipsychotics, CBT, DBT nothing has helped. I am seriously at the point where I am considering suicide. I can't do anything at all. I have absolutely no life and nothing has helped.
Hi there...I understand the bad days. You didn't mention any tranquilizers...Klonopin or Xanax?
I wish I knew. I have the same struggles. 17 years of OCD. In some ways it is so much better, but it still persists! CBT, ERP, medication..... I am stuck too.

It is very annoying and incredibly frustrating. People always tell me, oh just ignore the urge to do your rituals. It's like, if it was that easy I would have done it years ago. I have actually had some symptom relief with Rexulti.
I read a study that shows OCD can be linked to serotonin 5ht1b receptor. Both Abilify and Rexulti are potent antagonists of 5ht1b, Rexulti moreso. People get offput by the fact that Rexulti is sometimes referred to as an atypical antipsychotic. Technically Rexulti is considered to be more of a Serotonin/Dopamine activity modulator (SDAM).
Im going to be asking my doctor tomorrow to increase my dose and see if I can get more symptom relief from it.
I also had great success with Clomipramine (about 60% symptom relief) but I can't take it anymore because it causes my resting heart rate to jump to 130 and become abnormal.
I have my good days and my bad days though. Yesterday, when I posted this, I was having an incredibly bad day. The Rexulti does work pretty good though, without it yesterday would have so much worse than it was.

I just want to point out, despite the fact that my original post said nothing worked, some things did help. I was having such a bad day my rational thought was kind of thrown out the window.
