How long does rash from mono generally last and how can I lessen the severity?

Hi all,
Diagnosed with mono. Week before diagnosis, was on amoxicillin for suspected strep. Cue a terrible full body rash that appeared yesterday as a result of taking the amoxicillin while mono positive. I understand it will eventually go away, but I was wondering how long that might be and if there is any way to lessen the severity of both the itchiness/burning as well as the appearance. It's not pretty to look at for sure. Any advice/insight would be very much appreciated! Thanks

Ummm, well...I had the same but it was about 17 years ago. What I was told was that a certain percentage of people who get Mononucleosis get a rash BUT since I had family members who were allergic to penicillin that I too might just be allergic to penicillin ( as a result I’ve never taken it again) The rash, unfortunately lasted about a month to six weeks, it was awful, I feel for you.
