Is this normal after a laparoscopy for dermoid cyst?

I had a laparoscopy 4 days ago due to a dermoid cyst. They did not end up removing the cyst as they said it would damage the overy too much. Anyway the first few days I was not in much pain. I did not have to take any painkillers until yesterday and now today I am in more pain. Is it normal to be in more pain now than I was the day of the operation and the 2 days after? Why would this happen?

I'm not sure. Could the meds they gave you in the hospital have helped keep it in check until 2 days after surgery?

Thanks for responding. Maybe that is it. I will see how I am in a couple of days
I hear that it takes a few days for the drugs/ivs that they gave you in the hospital to leave your system. What they give to take at home is not as strong. My sister just experienced this after having a c section and this is what she is told
