UTI Infection? recurring after antibiotics, 6 times!

im 38 year old male. for last 6 months have had epididymitis in my testicles, and  a strange tingling or burning sensation on my buttocks and thighs, that then developed into pain in my  Uretha and a UTI.

I have had 6 courses of different antibiotics. Nearly every time the problem goes away then in 2 or 3 weeks it returns and starts getting bad again. I have tested negative for every test i have done, All STIs, cancer etc. On Urine, blood, and Semen cultures.

I have had 2 x ultrasounds of the scrotal area, and all have shown nothing wrong.

I am half way through a 2 week course of Moxafloxacin  in case i have a Ureaplasma or Mycoplasma, but its not working, and things are getting worse.

It now feels like my Urethra is on fire. However there is no discharge  of any kind.

My Urologist wants to put a camera in my Penis and see whats there.

Can you suggest what could be wrong ?

I dont know what todo next?

I don't know if you resolved this issue but the antibiotics have killed the beneficial bacteria called oxalobacter formigens causing oxalates from diet to build up in your body including the urethra causing pain and burning. Go on a low oxalate diet gradually or seek the advice of a trained practitioner including myself.  I hope this helps.

When you say tested, is that urethral swabs or urine tests, as I was tested multiple times with the new and sensitive urine tests and all were negative until I did uretral swabs

I had multiple Urine tests, and one swab. All negative. Also 2 x Semen cultures. The first Semen culture detected klebsiella oxytoca, but the 2nd one didn't. My Urologist thinks this was not the cause of my problems.
Please go with the urologist suggestion, if I were you I would also do another three tests:uretral swab, uretral swab for chlamydia, urethral swab for mycoplasma/ureaplasma. The first one is used to culture whatever is growing inside your genitourinary tract including klebsiela, second one searches for chlamydia by immunofluorescence, and the third one for mycoplasma/ureaplasma. Do this two to four weeks after finishing your antibiotic treatment.
