Left my Antibiotics at home after one dose -- is it a big deal?

32-year-old man. 6-foot-2, 220 pounds.

I had a boil/abscess drained a few days ago. Before getting it drained, it was already healing on its own. It was pretty small by the time I got it drained, but I figured better safe than sorry. The doctor at the walk-in clinic said she wasn't sure if it was infected or not, but prescribed me Bactrim just to be safe. Two doses a day for 7 days.

So, I took my first day's dose (two doses on Sunday) aaaaaaaand wouldn't you know it, I just arrived on a week-long vacation and forgot to pack the pills. I will be on an island for 5 days with no real access to any medical care.

So, how bad is or isn't it that I'm essentially stopping for a week after one dose? Can I resume taking them when I return home? I understand one concern is that the infection will remain, but the boil is already looking a lot better. I'm more worried about possibly building up a resistance. Should I be OK after just two doses?

I wouldn't be too worried about it, as long as you don't see signs of infection.  Warm salt water compresses, and over-the-counter antibiotic cream might help also.  If it starts to hurt more, feels warm, or oozes pus you should seek medical care.
