Rib cage/lung pain?

I’ve been have pain in my rib cage for the last 2 months now and the first time I went to the drs for this pain was 2 months ago and was diagnosed with mild asthma due to allergies and the GP said that there’s also fluid building up along the lining of my lungs. Today when I went to see my GP again because my lung pain has gotten much worse no matter what I’m doing.
When I did the spirometry test my ribs hurt bad like a 8 1/2 out 10 I had to sit down right after because it hurt bad I felt like I was going to break a rib. My GP said my breathing test came back normal and wasn’t quite sure what was causing my pain. She prescribed me predniSONE for 10 days to see if it will help. I go back in 11 days for a follow up appointment. I was just curious if you guys had any idea what it could be or if you guys have any suggestions?

Could it be pluerisy?  Listen to your doctor, but mention other ideas  if your treatment isn't helping.

Thank you for your input. That’s what I was thinking. I just started the medication today and I start PT today as well. Hopefully all of this will help.
Keep me posted... If steroid don't work something else is going on.
