Are these symptoms chiari related?

My son was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation after having several rapid onset headaches that would cause him to lose nearly all body function. He wouldn't be able to move or talk and would get very sick. He has also been having blackout episodes. He has just started to experience shaking and pain in his arms. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

How we respond/react to pain is different for everyone....while some can relate to your son's symptoms, others may not....so best not to compare...but Chiari can affect ALL of our bodily functions...so in that , yes it sounds familiar.

Make sure they check him for sleep apnea.....how old is your son?

With the blackouts, does he drop to the floor?

My son is 7. He does have sleep apnea. And he does fall to the floor
So his black outs are more likely drop attacks....do you have a Chiari specialist?
