Runny nose along with injured eye?

2 days ago I got something in my left eye while at work. It was like I couldn't get it out, and yesterday and today I saw a doctor because the eye has become irritated, watery and my sight got blurred.
The eye doctor I saw today, told me that I might have gotten a tiny piece of hot metal in my eye, which burned a small area of my cornea. Right in the middle. He scrabed out the burned cells, and right now it's hurting even more.. Hope it gets better.

But around the same time as my eye problems started, my left side of the nose became runny with a clear watery fluid. Only the left side. There's a bit of bleeding in there too, not much but it's there. I've been using eyedrops and the doctors have used dye, sedation and antibiotics. The dye came out through my nose too, lot og it.

I know the eye and nose are connected by the nasolacrimal duct, but I've never experienced this before.
I fear it's a spontaneous tear in dura mater, and that the watery fluid is cerebrospinal fluid.
My eye is pretty dry now after my doc work on it, but nose is still running from left side only..

Anyone experienced this?

Practically everyone that has a painful watery eye and a normal tear duct.   Cerebral spinal fluid out the nose is something that might occur with massive trauma like automobile accident and skull fractures.  Not with something that blows or falls into your eyes.  Work with your eye MD to get the abrasion healed and as healthy as possible.

Thanks for your answer.
It just seemed like much, have to put a paper towel in my nose to not drip everywhere. Told my doctor yesterday, but he didn't seem to take notice of it either.
