Still waiting on doctors appointment, questions about symptoms?

I still have been waiting on a call with a new GP who i’ll be seeing about my symptoms, but long story short- I am a 23 yr old female who is in remission from Hodgkins lymphoma for 6 yr now. Iv been healthy since although i do have extreme healthy anxiety fears, and have recently been experiencing (in my opinion) symptoms of MS.....The problem is I really don’t know if this is anxiety and panic attacks or something else. What i’m feeling is very real and not in my head but figuring out what it is is the problem...

So far, a few months ago I developed BVP vertigo whenever i turn my head Only in bed, not when I’m out and about but literally only in bed- which i still have. Next, I woke up one night recently with numb lips only? I wasnt sure if it was a reaction to tooth paste but that went away and never came back.

Now fast forward a month later, I still have vertigo, my lips have been twitching and pulsing a few times each day for a couple weeks, I have both legs twitching, fatigue during the day, and now I have hot flashes at night? I am only 23 so no menopause. I sleep in a room with AC but sometimes it gets warm. In general I noticed I am a bit more sensitive to heat. but its summer hear and VERY hot so it could just be that. I do go in hot tubs shower ect and I’m fine after those (i heard MS can affect that)

I also have developed crazy insomnia, I have very bad anxiety at night when it comes time to sleep because my mind races so it keeps me up some nights until 4 or 5 AM. I also have anxiety and depression and have since high school.

My father suddenly passed away 6 months ago so i also cant tell if this is just increased anxiety about that and health anxiety all at once.

Hi,

Did you also arrange to see a psychiatrist or psychologist to support and advice you about your health anxiety?

Please keep in mind that if you are dealing with insomnia and aren't sleeping well because your anxious thoughts are spinning  and spinning, the sleep deprivation and or poor quality of your sleep is going to be affecting you physically and psychologically during the day...

Anxiety excites your sympathetic nervous system in the same way as hormonal fluctuations, which can cause your body to heat up and cool down, heat up, cool down etc, so if the overheating isn't due to your bedding or room temp being to warm because it's summer, it's possibly associated to your high levels of anxiety at the moment.

btw i was confident i knew what a hot flush was but it wasn't until i actually experienced one first hand last year that i realised hot flushes are only somewhat like what you read about, in reality whoo baby......the heating up is only from my shoulders to the top of my head and it is a surprisingly intense heat, closest i can explain it is your feeling normal and the next minute you're sticking your head in a furnace, and then for kicks and giggles your inner temperature controller is cranking up the heat, and then cranking up the heat some more, and cranking up the heat.

On the outside I look exactly the same and nobody would know looking at me because i don't even sweat or go red faced, hubby tells me he can feel the difference in my temperature when it skyrockets....hmmm i once seriously considered stripping down to my undies and diving head first into the closest produce freezer lol lucky hot flushes typically only last for 1-5 minutes or i might of done it too :D

In regards to your concerns about MS heat intolerance, the technical term is Uhthoff's phenomenon (also known as Uhthoff's syndrome, Uhthoff's sign, and Uhthoff's symptom) is 'not' the same as what you've described....."In general I noticed I am a bit more sensitive to heat. but its summer hear and VERY hot so it could just be that. I do go in hot tubs shower ect and I’m fine after those (i heard MS can affect that)".....Uhthoff's is the return and or worsening of neurological symptoms when the body gets overheated either from external or internal temperature eg hot weather, exercise, fever, baths, showers, saunas, hot tubs, UTI's etc etc.

I hope that helps.......JJ

Thanks for answering again :) I haven’t made a therapist / physcologist appointment yet, finding a primary care dr took so long but I’m hoping once I see him (aug 27th) he can point me in the right direction or possibly prescribe me something.

As far as the hot flash goes, ok yeah that sounds a lot more intense than what I expierienced! I sort of felt a rush or heat but not extreme. Could be me just panicking or high levels of anxiety now that I have this pattern of bad sleep. I did have a tremor in my hands after a shower but honestly all these symptoms blend together and I cannot tell what is from anxiety and what isn’t.

What worries me the most as i’ve posted before is the twitching and weird muscle stuff, it tends to be on one side and i even woke up with my left leg feeling very sore for no reason. But i also need to take into account the very poor sleep quality im getting as you said .
