Is it normal to feel a “spot” in eye after laser surgery?

I had laser surgery on my right eye to correct a retinal tear and lattice degeneration three days ago. Swelling is gone as are the floaters I was experiencing before. However, whenever I look to a certain direction, I feel as if I have a spot or something in the bottom of my eye. Is this a part of the healing process? I’m afraid to go back and be told there’s another tear. Thanks in advance.

Yes many people have posted here a similar experience  and I have observed the same in my practice. Usually the spot which can be light or dark is projected 180 degrees away from the laser/freezing treatment. It tends to fade over time but in some people lasts many months.
