Can herpes cause scattered itchy reds dots on the buttocks?

For the past month I’ve had a couple of itchy/sore red spots, more dots actually, not pimples, coming and going on my buttcheeks, but didn’t give it too much attention as I was going through a lot of hormonal imbalance due to having started the pill about a month before that and have had trush as well. They seemed to have disappeared, then yesterday a few came out and I went to the doc who said it looked like folliculitis. Today they have multiplied and a few are bigger and quite sore, so I booked another appointment with a different doc for tomorrow to get a second opinion. They are scattered randomly on both my buttcheeks, not in clusters, no sores/tears. The doc I saw yesterday said it doesn’t look viral so not to worry about herpes, but I’m still freakin out a bit. Any thoughts? Thanks a million in advance!

Your symptoms sound nothing like herpes. First, new herpes almost always appears at the site of greatest friction during sex - on the shaft and head of the penis in men and labia minora in women and sometimes on the cervix.  Also, a recurrent infection would be very localized, like area of a quarter at largest, and reappear on one side of the body, not show up bilaterally on both sides of the body.

Your symptoms sound more like folliculitis and nothing like herpes.
