This is currently happening to me, I had my first positive on the 30 of March, still positive pregna cu tests as of today. But my betas have consistently come back <0.1 and I haven't had my period. We have. It done an ultrasound just continuous blood work that says the same result every time but positive urine and no pregnancy. I believe I had a chemical pregnancy but even with that your hcg levels drop within days to a week sometimes 10 days.... But not a whole month so I am not sure what's going on with me either. Blowing for answers soon.

You could have had a "chemical pregnancy," if the first test (that you said was positive) was correct. Home pregnancy tests (you mentioned that you had used an ovulation test kit, but that will not help you here, so let's assume it was indeed a home pregnancy test) can have evaporation lines that look like positive indicators but they are not. But let's say that you read it perfectly and it said you were pregnant then. Unfortunately, your blood test says you aren't pregnant now. A blood test done by the doctor is much more accurate than any home pregnancy test. A chemical pregnancy is just a name for a very early pregnancy that 'stuck' long enough for you to get a positive on a test but then faded away again. They happen when the cells of a pregnancy are very few. You don't pass any tissue, you don't see any evidence, except a late or missed period. It happens a lot, we just don't know about them unless we are testing.

Whether that happened or it was a mis-read of a home test or some other thing happened, no matter what, getting anything lower than 5.0 on a beta hCG test done by a doctor or hospital means you were not pregnant when that blood was drawn. Again, I'm sorry.

It sounds to me like you had a positive on an ovulation test kit and possibly on a pregnancy test also, but now your hCG levels suggest you are no longer pregnant. I am sorry.

Have you had an ultrasound?  HCG can level off after you are later into your pregnancy- if you think you felt movement, maybe that's it?

Do you have a due date?  Are you experiencing any other symptoms, like bleeding, cramping?

Hm, well.  Normally you don't feel a baby move until you are pretty far along -- for me it was at 20 weeks. You can feel a ball or hardness in the lower abdomen though when pregnant.  Especially if you are thin.  How far along do you think you'd be? When was your last period?

I had  miscarriage last year so it not my frist 9 weeks
So, have you had periods since the miscarriage?  Very sorry for your loss by the way.  When was your last one?  Are you thinking you are further along than 9 weeks?  Sorry for my questions, just trying to understand.

Hospitals ER's aren't always the friendliest places. What about a clinic?  Are you in the United States? There is Planned Parenthood for example.

It does sound confusing.  I'm not really sure what is going on.  Can you start over with another doctor on this if the last one was rude?

So, I'm just trying to understand. What test came out yes?  A pregnancy test?  Was this before these HCG tests in which they are lowering?  Because the HCG is suppose to rise rapidly, doubling every couple of days.

It sounds like you hope you are pregnant so I will hope so too. So far, just from what you have written about the HCG it would indicate you are no longer pregnant but you are saying you are.  What about starting over with another HCG test and one a few days later to see what it is doing.  It does happen once in a blue moon that a woman will have really wonky HCG numbers and have a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

Sounds very confusing. Are you stressing out?  I think I would be.  Hope it all works out for you hon.

So, ovulation tests to me are kind of hard to read and have really mean anything.  I tried them when I was trying to get pregnant.  But, they say if you are about to ovulate or not so a positive ovulation test really doesn't correlate to a positive pregnancy test.  Maybe you meant pregnancy test?

So, your HCG numbers indicate you were pregnant and perhaps had a missed miscarriage or chemical pregnancy.  I'm sorry if that is the case.  Have you been trying to get pregnant?

I'm really sorry about your doctor.  Some just need to improve their bedside manner, most definitely.  Sweetie, it looks to me that you were probably briefly pregnant.  This is what is called a 'chemical pregnancy'.  You conceived but it never really implanted.  What prompted the beta test?  Did you ever get a positive home test?

So, which came first?  Are your numbers increasing at each test?  What did the doctor say?

I sadly think those numbers are very low so depending, they should be much higher now?  What is your doctor saying about it?

Gosh, are you asking if you are pregnant?  It seems as if you may have conceived but are no longer pregnant?
