That is a very interesting question.  The two oils that I've read about for lowering cholesterol are lavender oil and clove oil.  I am personally not sure how to use them but in my area, it's a bit of a 'rage' and they offer classes at our local hospital on how to use them. Do a search in your area and you may find something like that and certainly at a good health store, you can ask.  However, know that high cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease and coronary events so should be taken very seriously.  Depending on your numbers, at times medication is needed to get people into an acceptable range in a timely fashion.  If you have high cholesterol already, talk to your doctor about any need for this, increase your exercise to raise your HDL which puts your number in better balance, watch your cholesterol intake in your diet and work with your doctor. but if you are trying to prevent getting high cholesterol, essential oils would be a great thing to try in my opinion (besides eating a lower cholesterol diet and exercising.  :)) good luck
