How long do symptoms last?

I have been tested for a STD, and given 1 dose of azithormicin, and 7 days of Doxycycline.  I am in day 3 and haven’t felt much improvement.  It still feels like razor blades when I urinate and I stil have a small amount of discharge.  From experience, when should I start to feel better?

Feeling like razor blades sounds more like a UTI, along with the frequency. The antibiotics you are on aren't the best for that. I agree with calling your doctor to follow up about your test results.

Is there any chance the doc gave you antibiotics just because you were complaining and you actually don't have any std's and the symptoms so the symptoms are unrelated to that?  Antibiotics work pretty fast.  You normally see some improvement in 48 hours and are fully recovered in a week to 10 days.  But if you never actually got a diagnosis --  you might not have anything the antibiotics would treat.  If you have a frequent urge to pee and it hurts, possibly a UTI.  And that can be diagnosed with a urine test.  Different antibiotics treat different things.  So, a diagnosis is pretty important to choose which med to give you. Call your doctor about your test results.

I’m not sure what I was diagnosed with.  The dr proscribed both antibiotics to help.   I cringe in pain when I need to go to the bathroom.
