Is it normal to not beable to see your inner corner of vision?

I'm a 17 year old girl, I'm curious.. is it normal to not beable to see the most inner corner of your vision closest to your nose, for example if you put a match pressed against your tear-duct, why can't you see the full match? I thought eyes could see 96 degrees each way?

The nose gets in the way. The nasal peripheral vision is smaller than the peripheral vision towards the ear.

so it's not really a blind spot, it's just a area your peripheral vision doesn't extend too?
Correct. The normal eye has a small blind spot where the optic nerve leaves the back of the eye. There is no retina over it. However it is projected towards the ear side and the brain fills it in. Shows up only under special testing (Peripheral vision testing).
