Severe Gastroparesis and drug test
I have severe Gastroparesis and am on GJ feeding tubes. I was in pain management, but got kicked out because hydrocodone wasn't showing up in my system. I did a DNA test and I don't metabolize opioids and with all the liquids that run through my body with feeds, I feel like it dilutes my urine. Is there anyone that can help me document or verify this. I'm distraught.

How often are you taking hydrocodone? Dosage and frequency? Are you taking it daily? Or as a prn pain medication?
The only things that could cause a total false negative, are major flushing of your kidneys via massive amounts of water/liquids over an extended period of time. Several gallons of water per day. The in office screen threshold may be higher than the level of hydrocodone you are taking, assuming you are taking it on a regular dosing schedule.
There is a blood test that could be done in place of an in office screen, but as I said, typically, when there is an office screen, that urine is also sent out for confirmatory testing, which looks for all of the metabolites of the opiate as it is broken down in the body to measure compliance. There is very, very little false negatives or false positives in gc/ms or immunoassay testing.

In office screening. And I flush a ton of fluids as I dehydrate fast between vomiting and diariea. My intake is all fluids. And a lot of caffeine because of meds I’m on that need it. My intestines don’t function without it. I know I didn’t do anything wrong. I don’t get this. I’m so upset.

Hydrocodone should show up in compliance testing. Even with the feeding tubes and liquid nutrition, it should not dilute the urine enough to cause a false negative.
