One eye gets dry with contacts....

So - as I wrote in my question last week (https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Eye-Care/What-is-a-good-replacement-for-the-Silver-07-contact-lens/show/3044634) - I'm a long-time Silver 07 wearer who now is trying to return to contacts after a 4-year layoff (and, the fact that Silver 07 is no longer manufactured).

Early on (in my early 20s) I tried a number of different lenses (none of which worked -- most caused GPC) before finding the Edge III, later Silver 07.

Now, this time, I started with Acuvue - but that was not a good fit. I started using Biofinity which *fit* better. My left eye (a natural -7.00) is wonderful with the Biofinity. The right eye is a -7.25. Of course, they don't make contacts in 1/4 powers.

So the doctor prescribed me a -7.00 for the right eye -- and it does fit well; but after a little bit, the vision isn't clear -- there's a halo-ing effect (almost like the darker images have "shadows") - and, honestly, it almost seems that there's a smudge on the lens. After a week, I inquired if it might make sense to have a -7.5 in the eye (for years I wore different powers in my eyes); and - right away, it DID seem clearer.

What's also interesting -- the -7 in my right eye didn't fit VERY well; after an hour or so, I became *very* cognizant of the lens being there (irrespective of the blurry vision). The -7.5 fits better (and, I know there shouldn't be a reason for that; but it definitely is the case ..)

What I'm also noticing is - the longer the lens is in my eye (literally, as quickly as 30 minutes) - the vision starts to depreciate. What helps is moisture (and, the right eye *seems* to get dryer quickly; whereas the left eye stays moist for a much longer time.

Is there any solution, outside of carrying around drops to periodically use in my eyes? I suspect this is still the same issue that plagued me 20 years ago -- which eventually led to GPC.

@Lemur21 I wear contacts daily and my left eye tends to be drier than my right...I use Restore drops for RGP contacts on occasion.

Thanks! I may have to see which drops are recommended with my lenses.
I should have said “Refresh” rather that “Restore”.

Glasses,   refractive surgery or wander from contact lens fitter to another hoping for a magic solution.

I do have glasses, certainly.

Is there something in particular I should be looking for in a new contact lens then (some composition) that makes that dryness less likely? It's interesting that it *only* occurs in one eye, no?
Only in one eye is not unusual. Like one hip goes bad and the other is fine.  No there is no contact lens I can suggest.
