Could I be pregnant? Or do I just want to be?

So I am 30 years old. I have had one child previously over 3 years ago. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) so I do not have a regular monthly cycle. My last cycle was on May 1st. I have been feeling tired, easily irritated, urinating way more frequently, abdomen is feeling "full" for lack of better words. My husband and I have had normal intimacy since my last cycle. Since they are irregular I can't really say when the next cycle will show up or when I may have ovulated. I am nervous to take a test just because I don't want to be let down and have a negative result. I am wondering if maybe I'm making myself feel the symptoms and they really are not even there. I know I should just test to find out for sure but wanted some advice or more people to tell me to test I guess. Thanks in advanced.

Ah, okay.  That makes sense.  Well, hey, you know how to recreate the situation if you want to officially try for another child down the road.  In the mean time, I'd really just take a test at intervals.  Dollar store tests work! :>))

Hi there.  It's always so tricky to figure out pregnancy and especially if you have PCOS or an irregular cycle.  It can be really confusing.  typically, you can get a positive test 2.5 weeks after your last sexual intercourse if you got pregnant by it.  But you know . . .  that probably doesn't help you much as you don't have an 'instance' in particular of sex that worries you but that you have these symptoms with no period yet.

You could have ovulated and you could have gotten pregnant.  But it is really hard to say.  I personally would take tests at one weeks intervals.  In the future, if you are trying, you can take your temp every morning before you get out of bed and record it.  You will see a pattern, a woman's temperature rises a full degree around the time she ovulates and then it drops back down right before her period .  .  .  UNLESS she is pregnant and then it stays high. So, I'd start testing. Don't be discouraged if you are not, it would just mean you have to try another time.

Did you have PCOS when you got pregnant with baby number one?

Yes i knew i had PCOS at that time of my first pregnancy. I was going through some personal things at the time and was also taking metformin. I had lost like 50 pounds and wasnt trying to get pregnant. That was not with my current husband. I now do not have medical insurance so on no meds. We are not really "trying" so its ok if im not PG. Just the symptoms im having are making me wonder if maybe i could be.
