I can’t seem to find a way to upload a picture the blisters are on my thighs. But I’m having some blisters on my thighs and the doctor says it’s a bad fungus infection and prescribed me meds. I looking for another thought. If it looks like it or not.

Quick ? I received an igm test 16 days past protected sex and came back negative for hsv1 and hav2. Is this accurate?

It might be, but the IgM test is unreliable and shouldn't be done on adults. Mine was negative when it should have been positive, and positive when it should have been negative.

Ask for an IgG test. It can take up to 4 months to show positive, but most people will show positive by 6 weeks.

You had protected sex - it's very unlikely that you would get herpes from a one-time protected encounter with someone who didn't have an outbreak at the time.

The spread of your symptoms so quickly suggests a fungal infection. I'd believe your doctor.
Thank you on day 8 and still spreading.
Are you using the medication as directed? You may need a different medication. Follow up with your doctor. Have them swab the area to test it to see what it is exactly.

Maybe you have molluscum contagiosum. That can spread rapidly, too.

If you think you do, see your doc and stop using the medication you are using now. You may be spreading the MC and making it worse.

Any ideas does herpes tend to spread. I had some blister in my armpit as well.
Sorry just read your last post. The blisters have a yellowish tint when popped they aren’t firm.
Please, please stop popping these.

Go back to the doctor very soon and let them swab it and find out what's causing all this. Ask them to do a culture on it.

Genital herpes infects the sacral ganglia nerve group. This means that if you have genital herpes, it only affects the boxer shorts area, and no where else. If you had oral herpes, that would be the  trigeminal nerve, and that only applies to the face. Herpes wouldn't ever infect the armpit, unless you had a severely compromised immune system, or you are a newborn who was infected during birth.
You need to get yourself to a doctor promptly, and get this checked again. Stop popping them - you could be spreading it that way, and the doctor can culture one of these blisters.

I agree. While you can get herpes on your thighs, it would be unusual to get it there without having sores on your genitals as well.

Use the medication as directed, and if you don't see an improvement, follow up with your doctor. Some fungal infections can be really persistent, so don't get discouraged if you don't see great improvement right away, or it comes back after using the meds. A nurse practioner I used to work with told patients to use the meds for two weeks after symptoms went away for this reason.

Good luck!

While herpes outbreaks can occur on the lateral aspect of the thigh(the part below your hip) herpes sores are easy to identify, especially by a doctor and you are more likely to have outbreaks on your genitals then your thigh. I would trust your doctor and take the medicine and if it does not improve go back and bring up your concerns. Best of luck.
