What was your exposure, please?
The test does not contain any of the actual virus. That's not how it works. The test is looking for antibodies and, if it's a 4th generation test, also antigens.
The test was designed by scientists and cannot be sold until it is approved by the fda. The fda protects patient's health so does not approve the hiv test until it is proven that it works.
There is no reason for you to need to know how the test works, any more than when you go for any other medical test like an X-Ray. You don't ask the X-ray technician to give you a copy of the working manual for their machine.
