Is it better to take a statin at night before bed?

SDeVolExternal User
I've been on a statin drug for about a year and it has been effective.  Someone said it is better to take this drug at night.  I've been taking all my meds in the AM.

Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums.  Always best to follow your doctor's recommendation or your pharmacist.  If you have any issues with their directions or once you start the medication, it's best to call them and get their guidance. Here is some general information to help you. https://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/medication-guidelines#1. Some of the newer medications can be taken in the morning, some they still recommend night.  So, it depends which medicine you take.  Which medication has been prescribed for you?

If your doctor recommended that you take it in the morning, then this is the advice to follow.
