Clean EMG 5 months ago, weakness now

I'm a 33 year old very physically fit and otherwise healthy male.  5 months ago I had an EMG performed by a neuromuscular specialist in the context of several years of diffuse, nearly constant fasciculations.  The EMG was clean/normal and I was told that no follow up was necessary.

However, I'm an avid weightlifter, and over the past two weeks I've noticed that my left arm/shoulder area is significantly weaker than my right arm during workouts.  There is no pain associated with this and I did not injure myself.  My arms seem to have similar strength at the beginning of a workout (my right arm is slightly stronger because it's my dominant one), but by the end my left arm is noticeably lagging.  Today, the discrepancy in strength was profound enough to alarm me.

I reached out to my neurologist about this issue and she referred me back to my PCP for "assessment."  She also said that if this weakness were related to ALS that changes would have been detected during my EMG 5 months ago.  Is this accurate?  Or is another EMG warranted?  I will be scheduling a neurology appointment, but wanted to ask this question here in the interim because I am very scared.

Thanks for your help.
