Does high blood pressure come from not being overweight?

Yes you can still have high blood pressure. It can come from you family history.

No. High blood pressure can be a part of your family back ground.

Genetics certainly does play a role and this is why they ask your family history during physicals to determine risks. It is, however, just one risk factor of many.

Thanks for your question.  Being overweight is a risk factor for having high blood pressure but anyone can have hypertension. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/symptoms-causes/syc-20373410  For most people, they have primary hypertension meaning there is no known cause.
